Comment on Jan Paulsen: 2004 vs 2009 by Shayne Vincent.
I believe the point he is making is that the GC is not the Vatican and cannot control institutions as we are a democratic church; frankly, the individuals in control of the the institutions themselves are the ones that hold the greatest accountability…
albeit, our tithe money is being spent for these teachers, and in this way the GC can take back control of the direction of our Schools, but this is a 100+ year old problem and was an issue even in the days of the original founders of our denomination.

Why is Creation absurd? You presume too much. If we as Church members believe the bible, is it appropriate to call us ignorant? Or why would it be inappropriate to ask a Christian school to follow the Bible. If you want to believe in evolution, then go to a State university. This is a very simple issue and has nothing to do with ignorance and everything to do with integrity.
[6/17/11 UPDATE] Two administrators, one biology professor, and one board member resign
Why would following the Bible story of creation be unloving? This is a philosophical issue. If I were a democrat why would I join the GOP? If I didn’t believe the bible, why would I go to a christian school to learn about evolution? Get real people, LSU belongs to the church, not the other way around.

Wisbey talks about LSU and what he wants you to know
such a “delicate” voice 😉
WASC considers outside efforts ‘threatening’ to LSU’s autonomy
The concept of academic freedom and autonomy is not in line with the purpose of the institution in the first place, they are not an autonomous institution, they are subordinates of the Churches mission to reach the lost by equipping members to be effective Christians and to also make a living while doing it; the original mission is obviously not the focus of our institutions and has not been for many decades, the real focus is what then?
