A most interesting stream of consciousness with very little coherence, Bill. But lots of vehemence and anger.

It is nice to be nice. You might try it some time.

Board requests progress reports from LSU administration
The most interesting thing on this website is when people who pose questions leave, those who stick around turn on each other. Who turns out the light when the last right person is left in the room?

Deal with LSU
Actually, Shane, that’s a vast glossing over of the facts. First, Adventist children get told the world was made in six days just over six thousand years ago. Then they get told, well, you know what, the rocks were made a long time ago, but the life on those rocks, now you see, that’s what was made just over six thousand years ago. *pivot* Then they get told, actually, it’s looking like maybe it’s really ten to twelve thousand years ago. All the while, with each change and each step, those making the new suggestions are the spawn of the devil, promoting a lie set to deceive.

The term cognitive dissonance has been bandied about here before. And I think that’s a VERY appropriate term. But the dissonance happens far sooner than I think most are willing to consider. It’s because the stories don’t gel, the hedging continues, and the language of blame and labeling resonates across decades of church history into the present. Kids aren’t getting confused over Biology classes at LSU, they’re getting confused because the language of blame and deceit NEVER changes, but the names of those who are blamed and the science does.
