Comment on [6/17/11 UPDATE] Two administrators, one biology professor, and one board member resign by Ron Stone M.D..
BobRyan: While we are on the subject of someone doing the right thing. Larry Blackmer comes out like a shining hero in this event. That guy has risen to new heights in my estimation. The “bad guys” in this case are furious with him for his strong stand in favor of the church, our doctrines and the correct mission of SDA schools.Larry is the man!Larry’s chief crime according to these guys is that he insists that the SDA mission is NOT to be “the best public university that SDA tithe, offering, gift and tuition dollars can buy”!Larry said that we are not out to just be “a better Harvard” or to just preach a basic minimalist Gospel like some non-SDA colleges. Rather our schools exist to teach the distinctive message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church! That guy is right on the mark.I wish that Dan Jackson could have fared half so well in those discussions. (Actually the incident raises some questions about just what Jackon’s agenda really is).in Christ,Bo
Bob, Graham comes out pretty great, too. He has been virtually absent from any real control over LSU, but gets to be the “hero” by firing these guys (some of which may be “fall guys’).
I also agree about Jackson. He doesn’t impress much at all,so far.

Adventist kid: @Ron Stone M.D.:Continue to believe that if you want. Not a scientific sample to say the least, but I just asked roughly 80 high school graduates from this year whether they chose which school they were going to or if their parents did. I didn’t even get ten who said their parents limited their choices or prevented them from going to their first choice.
I’ll continue to believe what I actually see and hear, not some biased opinion from you.
Do you know this or just a guess? I certainly hope they’re gone from LSU completely!
I agree. But who is going to sue whom, and for what? Are the disgraced ex-employees going to go after each other, LSU, Pacific Union Conference,GC?
I still say nothing will actually be done legally to solve this alleged crime.

Faith: Prof Kent:How do you figure that this site keeps biology profs with integrity out of LSU? Any professor that is following the Bible, supporting creation, and the SDA church has nothing to hide and nothing to fear. When you say “quality” applicants, just how do you judge their credentials? As far as I am concerned, it is far more important that these professors have a firm grasp on the teachings of creation and the teachings of the Bible than any credentials the world can offer. If that had been the criteria used as a guideline for hiring, we wouldn’t be in this mess now. And that goes for all our SDA institutions.
I agree, Faith. However, the type of leadership (Guy,Geraty, and Wisbey)LSU has had over the past two decades shows why we have evolutionists teaching “evolution as fact” at LSU and those supporting any type of creationism being intimidated, both students, and I would suspect faculty as well.
Does the LSU Board even care about this deterioration in our biblical beliefs. Well, their inaction, ineptitude, and apathy in finding any solutions tell me they don’t, at least the majority who control the Board.

BTW, If you’re a beer or ale drinker, the best are the “darker” and more “robust” varieties, as these have more antioxidants and phytochemical.
Or, you could just eat some oatmeal, barley, or similar whole grain!
I have much more knowledge of PUC, and it has as many or more problems as LSU, although these have been, so far, ignored by most. PUC thrives on its “high ratings” from U.S. News and World Report, etc. But, it would get much lower ratings if someone knowledgeable from an SDA rating agency actually did a thorough investigation of the school.
Am I mistaken, and we do believe in pre-sin death of non-human life?Do Adventists who believe in Evolution have a different view of the origin of sin?to get noticed: @SeanPittmanSean Pittman
J. Knight. I agree with you. However, I think you will find it difficult to “pin down” where sin happened with any evolutionist, SDA or not.
Most non-SDA’s simply will say “sin” is a manmade concept which has nothing to to with “God.”
The SDA’s? Well, how about some, or even one, coming on here to explain how “sin” got here.
Charles: So we are all on the same page? “TE and scripture are mutually exclusive principles?”
I would say “yes.” However, many find it easy to “fool themselves” into the opposite view.
