Comment on Creeds and Fundamental Beliefs by Faith.

Bob Ryan:

As I read the above postings my respect for you has deepened. You stand alone, defending the truth against those who are willing to put their soul’s salvation in the hands of infidels. They mock you and try hard to refute you, but they only show that they are willingly blind to the truth.

They put forth as truth statements that are clearly in opposition to the Bible and use twisted logic to support their statements. (i.e. Ron’s statement that the only way God is changeless is in that He changes all the time. Does not the Bible say that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever? How does that support constant change? Only twisted logic could see it that way.)

I really grow weary of the TE’s who take the word of mortal man over the Creator’s word and then claim that they are accepting ‘the evidence’ that ‘science’ comes up with because they are honest. Give me a break. They are deluded–and, again, willfully so.

To be a Christian means to follow Christ. Where do they find any evidence that Christ did not believe in Creation. He was there at the beginning–yet when He was here on earth in person, He never made any statements that the Creation account was all just an entertaining story, did He? If He came to teach us truth, as He did daily throughout the three years of His official ministry, don’t you think He would have told us not to believe the Genesis account if it were not true? He taught in the synagogue. Don’t you think He would have straightened out the record then, if indeed it needed straightened out? I guarantee you that it is an important enough topic that if it needed to be addressed, it would have been.

These ‘scientists’ that are trying to wed evolutionism to Christianity haven’t a leg to stand on. They plainly show where their hearts really are. They believe the idle tales of man rather than the truth written by God’s very own finger in the midst of His law. They are trying to incorporate the lies of Satan into God’s church. Cannot be done. Each person must choose whom they will serve. They cannot serve two masters. It doesn’t take much intellect to figure out why that is.

Satan and his lies are diametrically opposed to God and His Truth. And all the posturing and pretty packaging the TEs try to use will not deceive God’s true people.

These TEs believe the theory of evolution which was developed by man because men who went to university and received some letters after their names from other men have supported this theory. Rather a flimsy foundation to build on, if you ask me.

We believe God because we know we can trust Him to tell us the TRUTH–which He has done in His Word. Anyone who cannot accept God at His word is no follower of His, no matter what they claim. Thus it is impossible to be a Christian and an evolutionist at the same time. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

The fact that these educated people claim to do this is so ridiculous that it makes me wonder how they can be taken seriously as educated people at all. They are so obviously in error. It doesn’t take much to figure out the incompatiblness of evolution and creation. They need only open their eyes to the truth. In the end it will fullfil the Biblical statement that there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end is death.

Bob, continue to fight with courage, my brother. You stand on solid ground. You have the truth and you will one day be rewarded for your faithful defence of it. God Bless you and keep you.

Creeds and Fundamental Beliefs

I agree with Sean, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His truth does not change. However, you seem to be in disagreement with something written in the Seventh-Day Adventists Believe, and I am curious to know what it is. In theory, SDAs believe according to the Bible. While I have never read the book, I would like to know where it seems to you to vary from the Bible. I only believe what is in agreement with the Bible and if there is something in that book with the 28 fundamental beliefs, I want to know about it. Could you enlighten me?

Creeds and Fundamental Beliefs

Ron: Faith, I am sorry that you find this so distressing. I wish that you could feel confident of God’s love and acceptance, and I wish you could see His wisdom and love in the evolution of his created universe.

I wish you could see the truth instead of subscribing to the evolutionary lie.

Creeds and Fundamental Beliefs

BobRyan: [Satan] knows that if he can deceive the people who claim to believe present truth, and make them believe that the work the Lord designs for them to do for His people is a removing of the old landmarks, something which they should, with most determined zeal, resist, then he exults over the deception he has led them to believe…

Wow! You surely hit the nail on the head with this post. The whole of it was exactly what is needed regarding this whole issue–Ellen could have penned these passages this morning just for this time. What an awesome God we serve! He had the solution to the whole problem written about a century and a half ago.

If people would only study, hearken, and act as advised, we wouldn’t be here now.

I am just thrilled as I read the quotations you have posted for our benefit. Thank you so much, Bob. It was exactly what I, for one, needed. I was highly discouraged with this mess and I really needed these words to renew my hope.

I know some people think I am too unkind in the posts I write; but it is just this determined resistance to this whole ugly situation that I feel so strongly and want to pass on to others that makes me write as I do. I don’t want to see any lost. I don’t think we should be suffering this heresy to continue to destroy our beloved church from the inside out. As I have said before, I hate the fact that the young minds who are led to believe this evolutionary trash are being led to their eternal destruction.

I can hardly stand the snide smugness that Erv Taylor, Eddie, and their ilk seem to love to add to their posts here. I find it absolutely shocking that man–so weak and flawed–has the temerity to question the Word of our precious Lord and try to rob Him of the glory He so richly deserves in Creating and Redeeming us. How they can, with such determination, work against the God of the Universe–the One who made them, is more than I can take at times.

I almost never signed in to this site tonight–I am so grateful that I did.

God Bless you, Bob Ryan, a million times over.

Changing the Wording of Adventist Fundamental Belief #6 on Creation
And you are correct, Sean, PK must consider where his influence is going–for God or against Him.

Mr Taylor,

After reading your comment above, I must say PK isn’t the only one in that boat.I would make some comment as to how I really feel about you, but I know Sean will only delete it and you won’t benefit from my insight anyway–seeing as Sean is more concerned about other people’s feelings than you seem to be.

How you have the nerve to come to this website and call us all a bunch of morons (which is really what you are doing) is beyond me. You and your cronies are the ones drowning in error. Anyone who dares to accept man’s opinions over the Bible or SOP isn’t to be trusted to define truth for anyone.

Too straight-forward in my comment? Trust me, I have restrained myself admirably. If you only knew….

Further to my comment on skeptism and our professors, I’ve got to tell you that I found Prof Kent to be extremely annoying in his comments on EGW. He seems to think that she is an embarrassment to the church when she speaks on Science.

Personally I find people who dis her to be the embarrassment to the church. I really don’t see how they dare to contradict and mock God’s prophet. By doing this they undermine a lot of our church’s beliefs to outsiders as well as church members. God will hold them accountable for that.

Furthermore, David’s unpublished manuscript plus other books I have read on archaeology have reported skeletons of the type that EGW mentions. Also found were artifacts such as huge iron bedsteads made for and buried with kings of huge stature.

Just because you haven’t done your research, PK, don’t jump to the conclusion the evidence isn’t there. It’s there, all right, and you make yourself look a little foolish for not knowing about it.

“Ellen White’s statements about larger antediluvian life forms are well attested with regard to many different types of flora and fauna. They’re not even controversial…

Hi David,

As you know, I took advantage of your kind offer and I read your manuscript as well as I purchased 3 of your books, one for me, one for my sisters, and one for the church library. It took me a week to finish the book, and I and my sisters are very impressed with it. My one sister calls it “one incredible book”. It has answered a lot of the questions we had on the subject of evolution vs creation science, and, yes, I believe we (you and I and my sisters) are on the same page in our beliefs. We have immensely enjoyed discussing the various aspects of the subject as we read. It makes perfect sense to us.

I still have a couple of questions–new ones will probably always keep popping up–but I would say you have covered the subject admirably. Thanks so much for this book.

I agree with Elder Wilson, this is something every Adventist should read. In my opinion it should be used as required reading for science courses. It is exactly the way I would want science courses in the universities to treat the Creation/evolution debate in the classroom. And if the professors at LSU and the other SDA institutions would do this we wouldn’t be constantly losing our young people and, for that matter, our professors, to skeptisism.

Thank God someone has the courage to publish the truth and expose error.

God Bless you, David.

Hi Sean and Bill,

I am wondering if the difference of opinion here is due to varying definitions of the word ‘science’. As we all know there is true science and there is worldly psuedo-science.

If Bill’s understanding of ‘science’ in this case is actually worldly psuedo-science, then he is correct in not wanting any truth to be compromised with it.

From Sean’s post, I believe he is referring to true science, which is definitely part of our beliefs on origins and is well supported by the Bible and SOP, as Sean admirably demonstrated.

Not having seen the exhibit myself, I cannot comment on whether or not they are mixing psuedo-science into it. (Perhaps a few of you posters out there can see the exhibit and report back to us.) Knowing the general philosophy of SAU, I would be surprised if they did.

Their goal is “to provide scientific evidence that substantiates the Bible’s account of creation.” Sounds good to me.
They also say: “Religion and science don’t need to be at odds.” And that is true when you are referring to true science, which I believe they are.

However, I do understand Bill’s reaction in that these days when people use the word ‘science’ without qualification it so often means evolutionary pseudoscience, that we tend to be suspicious.

I think, Bill, that in this case we don’t need to worry. I believe SAU’s heart is in the right place and I am so glad that at least one of our institutions is willing to stand up and be counted on the side of Creation, even though they will probably draw much criticism from the ‘scientific’ community as well as from the TEs in their own church.

God bless them for their fidelity to Him. And may God strengthen them to meet the onslaught that is most likely to follow, is my prayer for them.
