[UPDATE 10/2/11] And we’re up

As you may have noticed we’ve had quite a bit of technical drama lately. Comments are working and everything has been updated. We don’t know what originally caused the 404 error with the comments, but we suspect it had to do with a conflict between our old theme and the updated WordPress.

The reason the whole site went down was because the theme became corrupted. All we needed to do in the end was reinstall the theme and everything was up and running. So what seemed like a very complicated situation ended up having a very simple solution.

UPDATE 10/2/2011

It turns out all of our technical problems were due to exceeding our database limit. It had nothing to do with our theme. We’ve transfered our database to a much bigger one now, so we should be good for the next eight years–hopefully we won’t be around that long. Everything is running smoothly now.

  1. Glad you were able to resolve the problem. I enjoy the dialogue with the many views presented. And for me at least, it stimulates spiritual growth as I am challenged again and again on what I believe and why.

  2. We could always  read some of the dialogue on Spectrum about creation vs. evolution. Same-o same-o.

I doubt the SDA church will split over this issue. Most SDA’s believe the bible on this issue. Those who oppose the biblical account will no doubt eventually go the way of all the earth and eventually receive the mark of the beast unless they repent. We know the Sabbath and evolution are mutually exclusive.

    • I’ve actually been considering that lately. I think Educate Truth has done it’s job for the most part. There really won’t be any great and insightful news about LSU until Dec. 31, 2012. That’s over a year from now. The site will remain up either way.

  3. As far as whether the SDA church could split over the issue…I wonder if NAD leadership in particular has plans or ability to deal with the problem.  (It’s already understood that leaders in Southern California will do nothing.)

Since Elder Dan Jackson reportedly intimated to the faculty at La Sierra that he was sympathetic with them rather than with the person and the conference who had come out against them, NAD doesn’t seem ready to do much.

I believe that the so-called intelligencia as well as the financially well-placed that reside in various Adventist university settings intimidate world church leaders or have a lot more influence with them than should be the case.

Shane, I want to thank you for getting the site up again. I realize it must be a lot of work to keep this site going. Thanks again for your dedicated work for God’s Truth!

Absolutely. And I still think we need a thread to discuss our new lessons on Galatians. I think Paul’s meaning is not clearly discerned and a super imposed meaning is considered Paul’s main point.

This is not a minor issue and has contributed to the church’s present spirituality.
