Ron: Bill, I am happy for the church to state …

Comment on Back to Square One… by Steve Billiter.

Bill, I am happy for the church to state what they believe as well, but the minute the church starts to do what Educate Truth is advocating, demanding orthodoxy as a test of fellowship and employment, then you have crossed over the line. The church no longer believes the The Bible and the Bible only, because it is usurping the role of the Holy Spirit to interpret the Bible to each individual, and to bring conviction.

Instead of allowing the Bible to be broadly interpreted as needed to meet peoples need, the creed limits the Bible to one narrow understanding which may not be where the Holy Spirit is going in some people’s lives. At the very least, the church is putting itself in the place of God by attempting to coerce thought and belief. Coercion is Satan’s tactic, not God’s.

Sorry, Ron but you are completely wrong. The Bible does not mean a different interpretation to each individual. As each person who seeks truth studies the Bible with earnest prayer–The Holy Spirit will bring conviction to the seeker as to Bible truth, and the need to be born again (John 3:3) to enter the kingdom of God. You seem to advocating an “anything goes” type of theology which does away with solid doctrines and Adventist pillars of faith. This will never work.

“Narrow interpretations” has nothing to do with a foundational belief in Scripture. Men may seek individual guidance from the Creator in prayer–otherwise, the will of God for man is found in the Bible.

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost(KJV).

“God has given in his Word sufficient evidence of its divine character. The great truths which concern our redemption are clearly presented. By the aid of the Holy Spirit, which is promised to all who seek it in sincerity, every man may understand these truths for himself. God has granted to men a strong foundation upon which to rest their faith.” {GC88 526.2}

Two Conflicting Arguments in Defense of La Sierra University
This article appears to be the most untrue, rabid attack that I’ve ever seen on God’s Word, which is too plain to be miscontrued.

Thank God for men like Sean Pittman and his staff that stands for truth despite the persecutions from evolutionists and their supporters.

I am still of the opinion that any church member that does not accept all 28 of our doctrines should by all means find themselves another church. But we know that Satan’s way is to attack truth from within.

We must be very close to the end of this age as we know it! “Come Lord Jesus, come.”

Changing the Wording of Adventist Fundamental Belief #6 on Creation
It saddens me to no end to see leadership in the Adventist Church who place their own opinions above the plain, unambiguous statements in God’s Word. Anyone who does not believe any of the 28 Fundamentals should be removed from membership immediately and not allowed to work at any Adventist Institution. They are of course welcome to attend church unless they still insist upon openly teaching lies.

Jesus spoke of two classes of church members in the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew 13–tares being the plants of Satan, “but the tares are the children of the wicked one,”(Matt.13:38)and the good seed, the children of the kingdom.

Tares are simply professing church members who are unconverted and in various ways act as agents of Satan within the church to destroy God’s Word driving many away from Christ and salvation. They are themselves deceived.

It will worsen until the Sunday law comes–then all of them will accept the mark of the beast.

“Satan will work his miracles to deceive; he will set up his power as supreme. The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out–the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place. None but those who have been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony will be found with the loyal and true, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their mouths. . . . The remnant that purify their souls by obeying the truth gather strength from the trying process, exhibiting the beauty of holiness amid the surrounding apostasy” (Letter 55, 1886). {7BC 911.6.

Revisiting God, Sky & Land by Fritz Guy and Brian Bull

Sean Pitman:

I personally think it important to read and address such challenges to fundamental Adventist positions coming from within the church itself – especially when coming from those who are or seem to be in a position of significant authority and responsibility within the church.Otherwise, many who do read these challenges, and find no rational counter arguments, will no doubt be convinced that the historic position of the Adventist Church on origins and other fundamental issues has been effectively falsified and that the Church itself has given up on many of its original foundational principles.

Revisiting God, Sky & Land by Fritz Guy and Brian Bull
Genesis 1 and 2 plainly says the earth and all that’s in [it] was created in 6 literal days–adding up genealogies in Scripture also reveal the earth is about 6000 years old.

The place for the above mentioned book is the trash can. Perhaps these so-called learned doctors may also want to find another church more in line with their beliefs-or shall we say lack of beliefs? [edit]

Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

We have 6 evenings and mornings here for creation not counting the 7th Day Sabbath. How can anyone possibly read anything else into this? So these two men are above and know more than God does? How very, very sad indeed.
