Sean Pitman: @David Read: Giving a booth to any group or organization at our own GC sessions is certainly viewed as a form of endorsement by most people. I personally have to agree that it is very unwise of the GC to give valuable space at our own GC sessions to organizations that are most active in undermining the fundamentals of the SDA Church (while not giving space to supportive groups like ARISE). Why not give our own booth space to the Catholic Church or even to Richard Dawkins for that matter? Sean Pitmanhttp://www.DetectingDesign.com

Sean, I also agree with you and Bob. Didn’t Adventist Kinship once get a booth at the Toronto general conference session under another name–“Someone to talk to?”

I read this somewhere. And what happened to them? Did they have a booth at the Atlanta meeting? Were they banned?

And why wasn’t Arise allowed to have a booth? Their group is one of the most bible-based organizations we have out here in California.

Holly Pham: Can someone explain something to me? Did President Graham act independently, on his own, or with the Board’s permission, when he fired the individuals?

I asked this question last week. Doesn’t anyone know? I’m confused by the reports on this matter. It seems important to the matter regarding the WASC debate.

Bob Pickle: LSU stated:So what does that mean? That means that the WASC wants LSU to operate independently of the denomination. “Institutional autonomy.” And the WASC is concerned about how many church leaders and/or members are on the board, it appears.

Does anyone know of any documented examples of a Christian College that has actually been de-certified because they defended their Christian beliefs by firing someone?

There seems to be a lot of concern about this, but is it really something that has happened before. There a lots of Christian colleges.

WASC Reviews LSU’s Accreditation

calvin: Hello,I am a Seventy-day Adventist who happened to stumble over this site a couple months ago. I have one question. Really, what are you fighting over?Isn’t there a better way to deal with the issues that you (all) seem so torn over?

Calvin, Please tell us how you would deal with the problems at La Sierra. Shane and Sean are doing a great job, but maybe you can tell us how to do better?

What exactly does “more inclusive” mean? The Northern California Conference uses this term in their literature, without explaining what it really means.

@David Read, Can ET or Advindicate get an interview with somebody who actually knows, first hand, what went on with this AAA accreditation? What “deals” were made and by whom, why, and with what “strings” attached?

La Sierra University gets 3-year AAA Accreditation
@Sean Pitman, I agree with the lack of transparency at LLU and virtually anywhere in our SDA system. The hiding behind closed doors is rampant, not only at LLU, but on the Conference level, Union, and even the GC. Try to ask anybody a really specific question. All you get is either nothing or another set of vague responses. Try it some time, and you will see what I mean.

Any insiders know WHY this happened? Was it part of a “deal” with AAA for accreditation?
