Unfortunately for those who believe in a literal six day …

Comment on LSU Testimony by Louie Bishop by HOWARDINE BOEHM.

Unfortunately for those who believe in a literal six day creation, there is very little, if any, hard evidence that the earth is “young,” or about six thousand years old. The Seventh-day Adventist church has spent hundreds of thousands of dollar attempting to prove this. No bones of “giants” mentioned in the Bible have been recovered. Biblical archeology has shown there were acient city-states but this does not confirm the age of the earth. Further, most creationists that I know deny the fact that new species do evolve to survive in a particular ecological niche. Very few creationists outside the scientific community even know that viruses are capablbe of changing between living and non-living forms. Viruses and bacteria are mutating continually. DNA evidence strongly supports evolutionary theory. The universe as we know it continually is being created and destroyed.

On the other hand, not all evolutionists recognize or admit that the “Big Bang” had to come from somewhere. The Bible says, “Let there be light!” Imagine the light energy from the “Big Bang!” Also there is a consensus that all things continue as they were from the beginning. Not necessarily so. Evolution does not explain the development of morality or the lack of it. In the persuit of intellectual honesty it behoves both creationists and evolutionists to admit to the flaws in both theories.

(I hold a bachelor of arts degree from the University of the Pacific, major in music, concentration in vocal performance. I attended Pacific Union College where I studed music, chemistry, mathematics. I continued my formal education at various colleges and univerities including UCR, LSU, CSUS, CSUSB, IVC, and received an associate degree in nursing from San Bernardino Valley College. My RN licensure is currenet in the state of California and I have an inactive license in the state of New York. I have continued to have an active interest in both the arts and the sciences and have many friends in both communities.)
