Comment on CCC Requests “Decisive and Conclusive Resolution” from LSU by Adventist in High School.
I stopped by all the College exhibits in Atlanta. La Sierra was by far the most friendly one I experienced. I definitely felt God’s Love when I talked to those people. I felt judged when I went to Southern.
Also, taking away subsidy is ridiculous. Biology is one of many departments there and seems to be the only one there is any concerns with.

CCC Requests “Decisive and Conclusive Resolution” from LSU
I’m glad everyone seems to think I’m guilty of something.. very kind of you to make assumptions. Have you guys never heard of having someone look at you in an odd way? Just FYI, I felt judged because I walked through their exhibit to see what was going on, etc. and all they did was stare as I came from LSU’s exhibit.
But what you might be to young to understand,
Exactly the type of attitude I expected from your side… We’re too young to know stuff, because, uhh, yeah we’re too young. It’s kind of ridiculous. Just wondering whether anyone on the whole EducateTruth side of thing wants to refute those comments, or do they represent the attitude of those on this site?
the “love†that you felt at the LSU booth is all “new age Adventisimâ€, meaning
Well we are in a new age, are we not? Lemme know if you can find an iPod that’s over 10 years old…
teaching that all we have to do is “love everybody & everything will be ok, & you’ll get to Heavenâ€,
I think that’s more true than, “just believe in a literal, unscientific, six day creation week even when it can be interpreted allegorically and you’ll get to heaven”
As far as I can see, the president of LSU needs to be the first one to go, & then his board & erring profs !!
I’m glad that you feel yourself qualified to decide who needs to leave one of Adventism’s best schools, I would say best but PUC is also pretty good. Is this because you’re old enough?

With all due respect, true scientists remain objective until they have exhausted and considered ALL angles, including thoroughly considering Creationism.
That would be nice if creationism was science. Perhaps you should read The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins. My friends and I read it at Academy together. Asking a Scientist to prove that evolution is true is akin to denying that Latin ever existed to a Spanish teacher. A quite ridiculous proposition. Thus, all scientific angles should be considered, and when I say science, I mean, mainstream peer-reviewed science.
…ridiculed students if they dared bring it up. Interesting…. Who has been the bully exactly?
Those are unsubstantiated accusations. What we had was a largely orchestrated campaign of character assassination against professors at La Sierra by the extreme right-wing element in the church, the equivalent of the Tea Party in modern day politics.
Like I said, falling to these ridiculous attacks will do little to help La Sierra. I know quite a few of my friends and I plan to attend non-Adventist colleges as a result of these concerns.
Keeping these professors because there may not be others would be a testament to our lack of faith. God will provide in His time.
…As he has done so generously at Southern Adventist University with, what is it, four Biology positions open?
If we have any hope of winning back any of the precious souls lost because of this, then the message has to be clear and unequivocal — What happend was not right. What you were taught was not right.
Oh right, because having a papal bull style declaration is somehow going to change the position of those who have examined real, mainstream science and come to their conclusion.
Interesting line of thought…
La Sierra University won’t neglect creation teaching, president, chairman vow
The moment someone quotes an imbecile like David Asscherick with any credibility, who even Wikipedia states became a pastor without a college degree, you know they’re just pushing an anti-Science agenda and should lose all credibility.
It’s unfortunate that La Sierra has buckled under the ridiculous attacks that wreaked of McCarthyism. Off I go to non-Adventist colleges to get a REAL education! It’s too bad, really, I was seriously considering La Sierra.
LSU and the Denomination should not allow WASC to impose its will on a Seventh-day Adventist institution. If WASC decides to pull its accreditation because LSU decided to stand up for educating truth, then LSU will be better off without them. As it now stands, as far as this issue is concerned, WASC appears more in the business of racketeering than accrediting.
WASC should keep its hands off the teachings of the church as expressed in its educational arm.
Bravo, Jonathan! My feelings exactly! If this accrediation association can’t handle our church teaching its own beliefs in its own institution they should be told to take a flying leap at a rolling donut.
Are we really suggesting that La Sierra would be better off unaccredited? If you want an unaccredited school that teaches SDA beliefs, go to Hartland or Weimar. Leave La Sierra for those of us who want an Adventist campus that teaches science.
