“… because what may be known of God is manifest …

Comment on An appeal to our leadership by Virgil Stanphill.

“… because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse,

“… and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing themselves to be wise they became fools.” from Rom 1:19-22

“Professing themselves to be wise” How accurately God’s word describes the (presumptuous) wisdom of man, who glorifies himself for his supposed intellect and “higher” education.

“They became fools”, speaks for itself.

La Sierra University Continues Deceptive Spin Tactics
Is LSU an SDA institution? Does it believe the testimony of Scripture, which the church adheres to in fundamental belief #1, regarding the Word of God? If it does, it’s in agreement with the following:

1. The Holy Scriptures:

“The Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. In this Word, God has committed to man the knowledge necessary for salvation. The Holy Scriptures are the infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the
test of experience, the authoritative revealer of doctrines, and the trustworthy record of God’s acts in history.” (2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17; Ps. 119:105; Prov. 30:5, 6; Isa. 8:20; John 17:17; 1 Thess. 2:13; Heb. 4:12.)

The above is straight out of the official SDA website containing our beliefs, as shown here:

http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/fundamental-beliefs.pdf

My next question is, “If LSU accepts the above declaration of faith in the Holy Word of God, what is their response to the following …?

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

“because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools …” Rom. 1:18-22

How does LSU reconcile the above with what is being taught in their classrooms, and, how anxious are they to stand before God someday and debate Him regarding the faithfulness of His Word? Because that day will surely come.

LSU responds to Michigan Conference
Mister Wisbey.

When I speak with a Jehovahs Witness it doesn’t take long to reach what, for me, is a non-negotiable … the divinity of Christ. Once we get reach that barrier, and there is no possibility of change for my Witness friend – we’re done. The Bible, and my own personal experience with God and His Son, have given me more EVIDENCE than I’ll ever need about the integrity of the claims Jesus made of Himself and His Father. I don’t need to keep questioning whether or not Jesus is God.

There’s no “big tent” on that idea. No embracing diversity. No openness and/or “broadminded”, “courageous” thinking. The divinity of Christ is a non-negotiable.

Guess what? So is creation! It’s also a non-negotiable. And it, too, is based on the weight of evidence.

A Seventh-day Adventist accepts the Biblical account of the literal 6 day creation week + one day of resting in the Lord. And it’s not something that’s up for debate. It’s who we are. Remember? God as Creator is foundational. It’s Fundamental. Non-negotiable … Adventist accepted Truth.

What this means is that you, sir, are in apostasy, along with all who are promoting evolution as fact. If that’s too difficult there is an easy remedy. Which is for you to associate yourself with like believers. This is a free country and God has given you the freedom to join with those of like faith. And that’s not anything the church is “doing to you”. It’s a recognition of where you stand on a non-negotiable, by your own choice. All who want to negotiate “creation vs. evolution” need to do so outside the “tent” of Adventism.

Our church has a responsibility to defend our faith from enemies without and from within. And that’s what any who wish to defend evolution at LSU have become. Enemies of the faith.

You should humble yourself and repent, or be disfellowshipped. And the church should stop vacillating and call this what it is – heresy. May God have mercy on you for the corrupting influence you’ve had on our young people. How many souls will be lost because they became confused or discouraged by your teachings?

If you desire to stay, than you need to become a Seventh-day Adventist. From the heart. You should be removed from a position of responsibility immediately, and decide if you wish to remain a member. This simply means deciding if you can truly believe and be faithful to Adventist doctrine. Again, you don’t HAVE to. No one can make you. It’s a free country and God has given you free will. You should fellowship with like-minded believers.

Dr. Geraty clarifies his “Challenge” to literal 6-day creationism
Mister Geraty:

The “tea bag crowd”? Are you kidding me? What in the world does that have to do with anything?

Praise God for Shane Hilde, Educate Truth, AND the Michigan Conference! Praise God you are no longer LSU President.

Our church has a responsibility to purge this heresy out of its midst. May conference after conference follow suit. The arrogance of LSU in this matter is astounding!

Mister Geraty America is a free country and God gives us free will. You are free to believe what you wish. If a literal 6 day creation week is too “faith-based” for you, please go start your own church, and take all who choose to believe in evolution with you.

It’s time for the church to take a stand. If your conference has any courage they should identify your apostasy for what it is and promptly ask you to recant or be disfellowshipped. Creation is a non-negotiable.

If you’d like to stay, take Bible studies, learn Adventist doctrine, be baptized (or re-baptized) then I’m sure the church would welcome you back with open arms. But don’t pretend you – or any other proponent of evolution – is a Seventh-day Adventist. Sorry. Creation is a foundational, BIBLICAL doctrine. Accept it or exercise your freedom. There are many non-SDA churches who believe as you do. You’d have no difficulty at all finding one.

May God have mercy on your soul for the harm you’ve done to so many young people whom you’ve influenced to doubt the Word of God! May God forgive the church for being so weak and vacillating in this matter. Something should have been done long ago.

We are truly living in the time foretold when “everything that CAN be shaken, WILL be shaken”. Sorry. This can’t!

Michigan Conference takes substantial action in LSU conflict
This comes as no surprise to me because the Michigan Conference is at the forefront of dealing with todays issues. While the conference below you sponsors (or did) an annual “Innovation Conference” with new age speakers — Michigan dealt with the Emerging Church heresy by inviting as their keynote campmeeting speaker last year someone who clearly exposed this form of spiritualism which is infiltrating “Christianity”.

Thank you Michigan for your leadership in all you are doing — especially on this LSU issue. Finally someone takes appropriate action. It’s very encouraging to see!

LSU Board news release and actions
Can we “cut to the chase”? The authority of the Bible as the ultimate source of truth is what’s under attack here. Which goes hand in hand with what will separate the saved from the lost prior to the return of Jesus. Jesus is coming soon, and “what can be shaken, will be shaken”. Only an absolute commitment to and adherence to the Word of God will enable God’s true followers to make it through to the end. Folks this is the issue that will draw the line in the sand. Does God’s Word have authority over our lives or not?

If the Bible is to be believed – God Himself is it’s Author. And He makes the following claims in His Word:

“To whom then will you liken Me. Or to whom shall I be equal?”, says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things. Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might, and the strength of His power; not one is missing.” Isa 40:25-27

“Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out. Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it … I am the Lord, that is my name; and My glory I will not give to another … Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them” From Isa 42:5, 8,9

“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you in the womb; I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone. Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself” Isa 44:24

“I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God beside Me … I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and cause calamity; I, the Lord do all these things.” Isa 45:6,7

“I have made the earth, and created man on it. I — My hands — stretched out the heavens; and all their host I have commanded.” Isa 45:12

How can anyone who professes to be a Seventh-day Adventist read those texts and try to rob God of His glory? Re-read them. Is God a liar?

To those who are at war with the teachings of the Bible, I pass on the following message from the Lord:

“Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself; the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee will bow, Every tongue will confess”. Isa 45:22,23

To those who honor God with me, let us join in with the angels who bow before the throne and say, “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created”. Rev 4:15
