Comment on Supreme Court Decision on Church Employment Case by Richard D. Brown.

Ever read the ‘begats?’ Ever analyze or calculate the ‘begats?’ Really pretty obvious. My daddy studied it way back in the ’50s. I still have the chart he made. Try it. You may learn something.

Good! You know about the ‘begats!”

Supreme Court Decision on Church Employment Case
This should be a no-brainer. Check the Faculty/Employee Contract issued by LSU. If the Faculty Contracts of our Seventh-day Adventist colleges and schools do not make it clear (perhaps VERY clear) that all employees are to be members of the Seventh-day Adventists Church in good standing, and follow the mission and policies of the Church and the College, and uphold the teachings of the Bible, God’s Word, and the Spirit of Prophecy, then shame on us!!! If they do, then shame on them, and fire them.

It seems to me, that somewhere in our leadership hierarchy, that there must be an awakening to the importance and clearness in our hiring policies and contracts. Have we gotten stupid to the fact that the devil is doing all he can to prevent the eternal salvation of our youth? Is it too late to wake up?

Louie Bishop Testifies, Again, about His Experience at La Sierra University
It is beyond the time that our church headquarters’ administration does something about sacrificing our young people to the devil’s teachings. Our SDA Colleges AND Universities must only present the truth of God’s Word as The Truth, not evolution as truth. Yes, our young people need to know what the world believes in order to contradict it with Truth. But to teach evolution as the world sees it, and to not teach God’s Word as Truth, is wrong, pure and simple. WRONG!

I am thrilled to know that we are nearer the end of time, but so saddened to hear from the mouth of our youth the damage that is being done that may have eternal consequences to our precious youth. May God help us to get rid of the parasites and predators in our church and give us leadership who is willing to “dare to be a Daniel” during the tough time our Church is going through. WE MUST SPEAK UP!

Adjuncts are hired part-time and paid by the institutions where they teach. Hello!

La Sierra University Hires Another Darwinist
Our SDA churches AND SDA universities belong to God and stand for God’s truth. There is to be no dichotomy between our churches and our universities. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

It is clear that if we let darkness in, then the light will go out. Evolution, as it is presently taught in the world, is in direct conflict with the Word of God. Pure, plain, and simple.

If the Creation Account Isn’t True…
I have told this episode to many of my students over the years.

Back in the early 1980s while at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, one of my colleagues and I were having a discussion in my office about creation versus evolution. We really got into it and were going back and forth. It became obvious that I wasn’t going to change her mind and that she wasn’t going to change mine.

While talking, a thought struck me, and I said to her, “You know, Sue, if you’re right and I’m wrong, and there is no God and no creation, at least I have tried to behave myself and be a good citizen, and have lived a good life. If the creation account isn’t true, I will have nothing to lose! But, if I’m right and you’re wrong, and there is a God who created, who gave us the plan of salvation, and the Bible as a guide of life, and you reject Him, then you will have everything to lose! I would rather be safe than sorry!!”

Over the years I have often thought of my answer as a possible cop-out, but what else is there? “He that cometh to God must believe that He is….” He that cometh to Darwin must believe that he is. Make and take the best choice.

If the creation account isn’t true…, we Adventists will have nothing more to lose than the atheists and the compromisers will, except perhaps being ridiculed, embarrassed, losing our jobs (I was expelled!), etc.

But…, if the creation account IS true, then expect “wailing and gnashing of teeth” when Jesus comes. Who in their right mind would not want to be safe, instead of sorry?

Defining Adventism: A poll
I don’t like the way the question is phrased.

If “Yes,” there is a limit to the number of these fundamental beliefs a professor may openly reject and still be considered an adequate representative of the church, then what is the limit? All 28? Perhaps 20? Only 14? Two?

If “No,” there is no limit to the number of these fundamental beliefs a professor may openly reject and still be considered an adequate representative of the church, then what is the limit? None? Ten? Twenty Five?

In either case some or all can be openly rejected.

Personally, if a professor openly rejects 1, only 1 of the 28, that is 3.6% of our SDA fundamental beliefs, then how can that professor be considered adequate as a representative of our church when God expects 100% committment?

Is there something wrong with our 28 fundamental beliefs that we cannot expect an educated SDA professor to be committed to and profess to others all 28 (100%)?
