Accreditation by secular athiestic authority is threatened? I am sure such a loss would be a blow in many respects.
How does it compare to what we believe is coming? Or do we really believe it?

“Fearful is the issue to which the world is to be brought. The powers of earth, uniting to war against the commandments of God, will decree that “all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond” (Revelation 13:16), shall conform to the customs of the church by the observance of the false sabbath. All who refuse compliance will be visited with civil penalties, and it will finally be declared that they are deserving of death. On the other hand, the law of God enjoining the Creator’s rest day demands obedience and threatens wrath against all who transgress its precepts.”
It is a long steep continuum from where we are today, to where we are headed if the above paragraph is true. Do we really believe in the historic message of our church? That it will happen as we have always understood it will?
I suspect many participants here do not really believe these things are coming.
Do we grasp the “New Age” vision of so many in the world – the idea that we are marching forward in a grand and glorious conquest of the world, space, and scientific achievment – that will finally rid the world of disease, poverty, problems and lead us to a glorious conquering of space and realization of our destinies?
What do we really believe? If we believe the historic faith of our founders, it will give us a wholly different perspective on all of this.

Has anyone changed their position on the creation / evolution debate yet?
Get to know Jesus personally (yes, it is possible) and you will have no doubt about how you came to exist. That is my simple faith. I don’t need any “science” that contradicts that.

For those who seek “signs and wonders” as a basis for faith, Satan also has the power to perform miracles. And miraculous events will play a major role in end-world deceptions.
I find my greatest faith-builder to be a study of scripture wherein I can clearly see God’s great guiding hand in the events of history as it has unfolded precisely according to His prophetic word. I find little that is more powerfully persuasive to me than the unfolding of the great 1260 year prophecy as given by Daniel and by John – centuries before it began.
Even today, in my half-century or so of life, I have witnessed prophecy continue to unfold in fulfillment – such things as Daniel wrote about many hundreds of years ago about the “end of time”: “knowledge shall be increased”…. “men shall run to and fro”
The way in which this information comes to us is miraculous in its delivery. As one starts to study it, there is a bit of evidence to support faith. As one digs deeper, the evidence builds more powerfully to deeply convict. As we realize that there is an almight God and that He is ultimately in control, we can intelligently choose “this day, whom we will serve”.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord…” (CREATOR of all).

Indeed!
There are two opposite sides in “The Great Controversy”. Everyone is on one side or the other in this great war. The battle is for the hearts of the individuals of humanity and many have made a firm decision as to which side they will be loyal. Some know whom they serve. Others are deceived.
How does one KNOW the Bible is literally true?
How does one KNOW that the still small voice he/she listens to is the Holy Spirit?
Proverbs 16:25 – “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
For everything that God has given us, Satan has devised a counterfeit. The nature of a counterfeit is that it is convincing. Monopoly money would never pass as real Federal Reserve Notes. It has to SEEM real and be most convincing. SO….
* For the Sabbath, Satan has substitued Sunday.
* For miraculous creation,he has substituted evolution.
* For God’ ten commandments, Satan took God’s commandments but eliminated the one about IMAGES and then divided the one about coveting into two parts. (That one seems a bit obvious but actually most of Christianity has sort of bought into it, yes?)
* We know that Jesus is coming again but that His coming will be preceeded by a false coming by the “anti-christ” that will “deceive the whole world” so much that IF POSSIBLE even the “very elect” will be deceived.
* And yes, there is the “still small voice” of the Holy Spirit. How does one distinguish that voice from the whispers of temptation that Satan puts into our “ears”? Most certainly, Satan has a counterfeit “holy spirit” that can be manifested in multiple convincing ways.
There is ONE TRUTH. There are many counterfeits. How to know which is right and which is wrong? Is the Bible really God’s first and pure line of information from Himself to humanity?
Faith: “And round and round we go.”
True. Faith, if you ever “win” a round with these guys, just remember what Ben Franklin said, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.”
Each must evaluate the evidence for truth and make a decision. There are billions on planet earth who are seeking truth. When all have made their final decisions, Jesus is coming. It will be soon. Many will be saved. Sadly, the majority will be lost.

@gene fortner: I don’t think anyone really knows what powers were being exercised on 9/11. Clearly the airliners were involved.
It was an event that changed the world in ways that top-down powers would yearn for.
No point in speculation… I think Veith probably was mistaken to do that deep dive and it seems that he has quietly backed away from it.
The thing we must focus on is to “Turn your eyes upon Jesus….” Clearly, we are in “the last days”.

@David Read: I find Veith’s “theorizing” regarding “conspiracies” to be spot on and on topic.
There is a great “conspiracy” – otherwise known as “The Great Controversy”. It is the ultimate reality of our rebellious little world today. AND it is the foundation of all of these other problems we deal with.

Evidence that God is in control. LSU could become a beacon of light shining on the truth of our world an how we came to be here. That is as it should be.

I believe we are involved in a Mount Carmel experience. As this world is hurling toward the great climactic “END”, we will see more and greater attacks against the truth by the great deceiver. The prophets of Baal will become bolder and more feverish. (Remember that the prophets of Baal on Mt Carmel were much from within the nation of Israel.)
What a day of reckoning it will be when “at such a time as we think not” that great cloud approaches this world. The signs today are loud and bold. Jesus is coming. Spread the word.
