@MLB:

What a tough place to be as an administrator! If they cave in to political correctness and acquiesce to the Progressives and allow LSU to continue in its errant ways, they will be responsible before God for the young people who lost their faith in God and the SDA church. But if they do the right thing and really fix the problem at LSU, they will offend the Progressives and there could be a schism in the church.

But who knows what is really in an administrator’s heart or mind? Maybe they were put into office for such a time as this. We shall see.

@Jorge: This is a fundamental problem in America today that is ruining our country. For some strange reason Progressives and Liberals cannot make the distinction between disagreement and hate. This is implied in Jorge’s post. It is a very small minded position that says if someone disagrees with me, they hate me. It is implied in Jorge’s post that because Sean is a creationist, he would not help the evolutionist.

It is entirely possible to disagree on the subject of our origins – whether we were created by God or whether we evolved – and still be a loving Christian.

@Jorge: Jorge, why do you imply that one can only be a loving Christian if they ignore the sin around them and accept everyone and every institution irregardless of what they say or do?

Jesus didn’t do that. He was very forward to rebuke sin and evil, especially in institutional places. The teaching of evolution as the best explanation of our origins by the religion and biology departments [edit] is evil and deserves rebuking.

@Jorge: Jorge, you are wrong. Jesus mingled with sinners, he gained their confidence, and then he healed them of their sins. He told them to go and sin no more. I see no place where Jesus said to embrace sin and continue in a life of sin and rebellion against God the Creator.

If love rises above doctrine and differences and tolerates and accepts, why didn’t God just overlook Adam and Eve’s disobedience and let them stay in the Garden? Why didn’t God overlook the Antedeluvian sins and not bring a flood to the earth? Why did God institute the sanctuary service that caused innocent animals to be killed if things could just be overlooked? Why did Jesus have to die on the cross if things could just be overlooked?

NCSE Report: Adventist Education in the Midst of a Sea of Science

“2. If a student (think of your child) at a SDA institution is caught cheating on a homework assignment, or smoking a cigarette, or drinking alcohol, should the student’s name and sin be posted on the institution’s website so that parents and students will be better informed about what is happening at the institution? If not, why not?”

Eddie, there is a whole lot of difference between young people who are immature and still growing spiritually and emotionally, and professors who are leaders, teachers, and mentors. Like it or not, leaders are held to a little higher standard than students. Young people should want to go to our schools because they want to follow our principles. If they are rebellious and thumb their nose at our rules, then they should be dismissed. If they are accepting of correction and change their ways, that’s growth and maturing, and what we want.

Leaders and professors, who are mature, and who sign contracts and agree to support their employer are a whole different situation and should be outed for the evil that they do. In private industry employees that work against their company are fired, and even prosecuted.

Don’t tell me that Dr. Bradley and his associates in the Biology Department didn’t know what they were doing. And don’t tell me that Dr. Guy and his associates in the Religion Department don’t know what they are doing supporting gay marriage against our church’s beliefs.

The only reason this has happened is because the conservatives of our church have been asleep while the fox got into the henhouse. WE ARE AWAKE NOW. And we are not going to let our beloved church be trashed any longer.

Do these quotes sound like the language of loyal church members who want to be mentors to our children? Not to me. By their works we know them.

The saddest part of this whole LSU saga is that average church members sit by and let it happen without protest or action. The second saddest thing is the useless administrators who are so concerned about political correctness and appearances that they won’t do anything.

What a pitiful situation we are in. Certainly the world and church conditions declare that Jesus is coming soon. For that we can rejoice. Maranatha!

Christina, you “signed out” but I hope you’re still reading this.

I hope that you had the opportunity to tell your neighbor Paul Harvey’s “rest of the story” to go with the Educate Truth website and this thread.

I hope you told him/her:

1. The SDA church has 28 Fundamental beliefs.
2. The SDA church has CHURCH-OWNED colleges and universities that employ professors who are CHURCH EMPLOYEES.
3. Those professors sign contracts that ask them to support their employer, THE SDA CHURCH.
4. Certain professors are teaching contrary to their employers Fundamental Beliefs.
5. That these SUBVERSIVE activities have been going on for a long time.
6. That the professors who have been responsible for this controversy have NOT convened conferences to publically declare their disagreement with church beliefs, but instead UNDERHANDEDLY targeted to the most vulnerable population of the church, our YOUNG PEOPLE.
7. ADMINISTRATORS should have done their job and dealt with this as a part of their job, but they didn’t. They instead swept it under the rug, either out of cowardice, political correctness, or because they agreed with the rebellion.

AND THE LAST
8. Only AFTER all of the previous 7, loyal church members have done the last thing they can do, bring this out in the light of day.

I believe that makes Sean and Shane heros for standing up for the truth.

Michigan Conference vs. LSU – Right Wing Politics or Truth in Advertising?
Sean makes a great point here. The Fundamental Beliefs of the church have been with us for a very long time. These beliefs indicate what Seventh-day Adventists believe. Our church pioneers spent many countless hours studying their Bibles under the direction of the Holy Spirit to reveal those previous truths. If support of our FB’s is now no longer considered main stream Adventism, but rather fringe, right wing, Tea Party stuff, then that demonstrates how far off the progressives that call themselves SDA have gone off course.

I have said it before and I will say it again. The problem at LSU is not fixed and the problem is not just with the biology department. Things will not be fixed there until disloyal administration and faculty are discharged, and loyal replacements are hired in both the religion and biology departments.

I don’t think for a minute that the relative quiet at LSU right now means that things are OK. I don’t think that PhD’s that have espoused ideas so contrary to our FB’s have suddenly changed their minds and are now loyal to the church. They are waiting for us to go away and lose interest. What do we want for our church? Do we want our Bible based doctrines that have guided us up to this point? Or do we want do as you please religion as Irv Taylor and his friends at LSU want?

John&#032J&#046: This site claims it promotes accountability for, I assume LSU and the church and its leadership, yet to who is this site accountable too? None~nota.

It operates outside the church and the God given structure outlined in the book of Acts. It neither supports nor is accountable to that given structure. It has actually fostered opposition against said structure.

John J., you bring up an interesting point. There are plenty of great self-supporting institutions that support our church. Consider Weimar, Young Disciples, etc. Educate Truth is another example of a self-supporting group. It is composed of loyal church members who are working to support and prevent the war on our our church’s beliefs.

The paradox is that the destructive element is coming from within the church, from those that call themselves Seventh-day Adventists, but who don’t subscribe to the beliefs of the SDA Church, and want to tear down those beliefs.

Sean and Shane are Adventist patriots and will be regarded as heros to the church for their bold and decisive action.
