This lecture was given Nov. 17, 2009 by John Webster and Warren Johns for the newly formed General Biology Seminar course. LSU advertised the course in the Recorder (Nov. 2009) as a course that would “focus on guiding these students through the ongoing dialogue between faith development and scientific investigation.” The creation of the course was in direct response to allegations that LSU was not supporting the church’s belief in a recent, six-day creation and promoting the theory of evolution.

According to the syllabus, the course was coordinated by Lee Greer and Jim Wilson (department chair). The speakers for the course were Warren Trenchard (Provost), Fritz Guy (religion), Gary Bradley (biology), Lee Grismer (biology), Warren Johns (Loma Linda University), John Webster (Dean of Religion), Lee Greer (biology), and Ben Clausen (Geoscience Research Institute). At least five of the speakers do not support a recent, six-day creation.
