Sad but true. I think what’s a greater problem is how impervious many are on how serious this is. Anyone who reads those surveys will see that a huge swath of SDA young people are confused about how the Bible relates to life and our knowledge of what it true. This has implications on many things other than origins. I know several people, who are leaders in their local churches, educated at SDA universities, who “wrestle” with whether of not the church should accept homosexuality as normative. This is the fruit of an educational environment that is divided on the place of Scripture in determining what is truth. And instead of being upset about it, many in the church would rather rail against the conservatism of Ted Wilson. As CS Lewis said, the devil loves to have us run around with fire extinguishers in the middle of a rain storm.
