I sat on the board of our local elementary school for a couple of years. When it came time to hire a new teacher we were instructed by the conference officials that we could not ask those applying for the job about their own religious convictions. We couldn’t even ask if they were baptized SDA’s. I was stunned and appalled. We were told it was against the law because we have state accreditation. Perhaps it is time to let go of accreditation?
