Comment on Review of “The Surge” with Dr. Lela Lewis and Friends by Randy Hess.
Sean, you didn’t really address the Israeli data, which I personally have downloaded and analyzed. It shows in the current delta variant spike, negligible reduction of infection rates among those over 20 who have been vaccinated, compared to unvaccinated, and only a 20% reduction in hospitalizations and deaths. Those over 20 that have recovered from previous Covid infection show a nearly 80% reduction in infection rate. Does this reflect the fact that on average Israelis were vaccinated earlier and the effectiveness is decreasing, particularly against the family of variants known as delta? What is the explanation for these numbers? Those numbers are similar across most age categories above 20.
